After electronics engineering, our founder Manoj Kumar Mishra began as a System Administrator at an ISP in 1998, installing dial-up connectivity for enterprises and leadership homes. That ISP grew into one of India's early datacenter environments — giving him hands-on exposure to networks, switching, routing, security, servers, web hosting, and email platforms.

Working alongside Linux experts associated with the Linux India community and early hosting automation such as the Vishwakarma control panel, he built deep expertise across Linux operations and hosting platforms. In 2006, his work was recognized as a Tux Hero by Linux For You magazine.

In production environments, he led complex migrations — including 1,000 shared-hosting websites and 10,000 mailboxes with zero downtime, even while DNS propagation continued in the background. He also became known for rapid recovery of critical outages — including firewall-related failures that had left websites offline for days, restored in minutes.

That experience shaped a clear purpose: businesses should not lose time to IT failures. They need a partner who takes ownership of infrastructure and security so they can focus on growth.

In 2008, IT Monteur was established — named from the French word Monteur ("mechanic") — as a proprietorship under Rashmita Mishra. As the organization scaled, it was incorporated as IT Monteur Private Limited on 19 March 2019, with directors Manoj Kumar Mishra and Rashmita Mishra.
